May Workshop

ROUSHAM GARDENS, Oxfordshire, 20 May 2023, 10.00pm - 4.00pm

Monty Don has described Rousham as one of the greatest gardens in the world, the masterpiece of designer William Kent (1685-1748). It represents the first phase of English landscape design and remains almost as Kent left it, one of the few gardens of this date to have escaped alteration, with many features that delighted 18th-century visitors to Rousham still in situ, such as the ponds and cascades in Venus’s Vale, the Cold Bath, and seven arched Praeneste, Townsend’s Building, the Temple of the Mill, and, on the skyline, a sham ruin known as the ‘Eyecatcher’.
Here's a clip of Monty Don talking about Rousham, which he featured in his series Around the World in Eighty Gardens.

This practical photography workshop is limited to six participants to ensure individual attention. The emphasis is not on technical expertise but on capturing an image that holds meaning for you. You can use a smartphone or a professional camera and by the end of the day you will see a marked improvement in your work.
